We are currently looking for a part-time medical assistant and part-time medical receptionist. Read below for the full descriptions to see if you would be a good fit. Medical Assistant

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant License in WA state required.
  • Dermatology experience strongly preferred, but applicants with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in another field will also be considered.
  • Previous HIPAA & Bloodborne Pathogen education

Preferred Skills

  • NexTech proficiency or other EMR experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical assisting
  • Ability to quickly and accurately scribe a patient visit
  • Excellence in customer service, including strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay

  • $14-$20/hr depending on overall experience as a medical assistant as well as experience in dermatology

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist providers in medical appointments, procedures, and patient care; Summarize medical visits to patients and provide education regarding diagnoses and recommended follow-up
  • Represent oneself and the practice with professionalism at all times
    • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct every day
    • Work effectively and easily with team to accomplish the objectives of the practice
    • Be courteous, respectful and cooperative at all times; be considerate of others’ time and feelings
    • Maintain compliance with HIPAA & OSHA standards, as well as all office policies and protocols
  • Room patients
    • Address patients appropriately and greet them pleasantly in the lobby
    • Room patients according to practice protocols to maximize provider efficiency
  • Document patient visits
    • Practice engaged listening during patient visits.
    • Accurately identify patient, document chief complaint, and reconcile medications
    • Objectively and completely record patient’s health histories, descriptions of symptoms, problem lists, providers’ rule-outs/diagnoses, and recommended follow-up in EMR
  • Assist provider during patient visits and/or procedures
    • Prepare medical trays and supplies for in-office procedures
    • Assist providers during procedures, following sterile procedure guidelines when appropriate
    • Maintain patient comfort during all patient visits and procedures
  • Check out patients
    • Accurately submit electronic prescriptions, reviewing with provider for contraindications
    • Schedule appropriate follow-up appointments
    • Provide patient with completed visit summary
    • Enter patient charges when cosmetic procedures are performed
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and well-stocked patient areas and laboratory
    • Clean rooms between each patient, promptly disposing of waste appropriately
    • Clean and sterilize medical equipment, supplies, and surgical trays
  • Coordinate pathology shipments and results
    • Accurately label, process, and ship pathology specimens
    • Promptly follow-up on outstanding labs and pathology results according to practice protocols
  • Complete EMR To-Do tasks as assigned
  • Answer incoming calls and reply to telephone messages
    • Promptly and pleasantly answer incoming calls with appropriate greeting
    • Politely and warmly assist or redirect patients as necessary
    • Promptly respond to and accurately document staff and patient inquiries regarding patient care and medications, including telephone messages
  • Medical assistants are expected to assist with other positions’ tasks as required to ensure smooth daily operations, including both clinical and administrative duties. Each team member shares responsibility for ensuring tasks across all departments are successfully completed on a daily basis.

Medical Receptionist

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school degree

Preferred Skills

  • Excellence in customer service, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration, with dermatology and EMR experience strongly preferred

Pay

  • $13-$20/hr depending on overall experience as a receptionist as well as experience in dermatology

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide a first point of contact for patient inquiries and provide quality customer service and resolution
  • Represent oneself and the practice with professionalism at all times
    • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct every day
    • Work effectively and easily with team to accomplish the objectives of the practice
    • Be courteous, respectful and cooperative at all times; be considerate of others’ time and feelings
    • Maintain compliance with HIPAA & OSHA standards, as well as all office policies and protocols
  • Answer incoming calls and reply to telephone messages
    • Quickly and pleasantly answer incoming calls with appropriate greeting, assisting or redirecting patients as necessary
    • Promptly respond to and accurately document staff and patient inquiries and messages
  • Provide quality in-person service to patients directly in the office
    • Address patients appropriately and greet them quickly and pleasantly when they arrive
    • Correctly identify patients, check patients in, gather complete demographic and health history information
    • Practice engaged listening when interacting with patients and offer appropriate solutions
  • Accurately verify insurance benefits
  • Collect copays and payments on balances according to protocol, collect payment for product sales
  • Schedule patients accurately as required by insurance plan and office policy
  • Efficiently process referrals and follow-up to ensure patient schedules
  • Generate and distribute patient correspondence via letter, fax, e-mail, and automated phone call
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and well-stocked reception area and lobby
